Ad networks, more and more by the week: firstly, Google announced the launch of Google TV network to bring advertisers more opportunities when it comes to CTV. It offers video ad spots across 125 channels, which advertisers can run alongside existing campaigns by adjusting the settings in their Google Ads accounts. Costco also announced plans to build out an ad business using data on its members’ shopping habits and past purchases. With customers requiring their membership cards to shop, the retailer is in a powerful position.

In Europe, Meta has come under scrutiny, receiving 11 EU complaints over proposed changes which would see it using personal data from its platforms to train its AI models. Personal data includes users’ posts, private messages and online tracking data. According to advocacy group NOYB, this likely breaches privacy rules within the European Union.

Focusing in on the UK, GroupM predicts that ad spend will rise 4.9% this year. Worldwide, expenditure is expected to increase 7.8% – an upward revision from the 5.3% they had predicted late last year.
