More Google news hit the industry this week: the US Department of Justice said it would ask a judge to force the tech titan to sell its Chrome browser. Later in the week, the DOJ published its proposed remedies to rectify Google’s having been found guilty of monopolistic practices. Mat Broughton investigated the implications of the remedies here

This week in the APAC region, Warner Brothers brought its Max streaming service to India. The entertainment giant is partnering with local companies to build loyalty for the platform. Meanwhile, Asian News International – one of India’s biggest news agencies – sued OpenAI for copyright infringement, marking the first time an Indian media organisation has taken legal action against the AI company. 

In the retail space, Walmart’s Q3 earnings reported growth of 28% for its global ad business. Disney also recently shared strong results for its advertising and streaming efforts; it reported an increase of 4.4 million users in its subscriber base, climbing to reach a total of almost 123 million, among other positive figures.
